- Bailey
After raising our golden retriever Bailey from 7 weeks until
just over a year we were very picky and perhaps a bit uneasy about selecting a
doggy daycare. Our unease was completely
put at rest as soon as we met Saro and Yoko. It immediately became clear that
they each had a genuine love of dogs, were very particular with respect to the
care of each dog and the composition and well-being of the pack as a
whole. We also appreciate having the
option of purchasing off leash hikes, dog taxi service (pick up and drop offs
at our home), grooming, raw dog food and other supplies including personalized
collars and the chuck it balls we seem to lose frequently. Bailey is happy to go to Jonah's Ark in the
morning and happy to see us when we pick him up at the end of the day. It gives us great peace of mind that we know
our 'fur son' is being well taken care of while we are away at work in the
company of his 'day pack'.

Josh
Josh is a high energy dog!
At Jonah's Ark all his needs are met which include exercise,
socialization, discipline, care and affection.
Josh is hiking the local mountains while I am at work with a piece of
mind that he is safe and being a balanced dog.
Thank you Saro and Yoko!

- Mootch
Just a quick line to let you know that Mootch is doing well
and misses you and her old buddies down in the hood. To those who don't know
Mootch; she is now about six years old coming to us via the Penticton SPCA. She
is mostly Rotty but has an unusual tail shaped like a question mark perhaps
indicative of her inquisitive nature. Apparently her origin was in Ontario and
by age 1.5 yrs we became I think her third family. Seemingly given up by two
families because she was not house broken she quickly learnt to correct this
and has become a well-adapted family member. But it has been a long haul to get
here. Along the way we have been helped by many good people. Initially it was
with Julia at the day care and obedience classes. When Saro and Yoko took over
the daycare and it became Jonah's Ark, Mootch formed a close attachment in
particular to Saro. Saro is North Vancouver's dog whisperer and he spent much
time and care in successfully integrating Mootch into becoming a natural part
of the day's pack giving her confidence and curbing her less attractive
tendencies. We first attended daycare twice weekly and on Saro's advice cut
that to once a week when he felt Mootch had progressed sufficiently. She had
even got to the point where she could help new dogs fit in on the hike. And
that's what you get at Jonah's Ark, it is way more than a daycare, where else
can you leave your dog where it will get to play, hike, rest and you get the
benefit of knowledgeable sound advice and action from two people who really
love your dogs. Due to circumstances (moving to the Okanagan) - Mootch can no
longer attend. But perhaps that's ok; she takes with her the lessons that Saro
taught her so well.
So our thanks to Saro and Yoko, our best wishes for
continued success and our most sincere recommendation to those of you out there
looking for a home away from home for your pet during the busy day.
Best regards,

I was not treated well before I met my humans. They first
took me to agility. I was so nervous of humans, especially men, and was afraid
to leave my 2 new humans so they encouraged me to go to Jonah's Ark even though
I didn’t want them to leave me. By the
3rd time I was so excited to go there. Saro taught me some good behaviour and
he & Yoko are so good to me. The only time I pull on the leash now is to go
to daycare! I play hard with the other
dogs and go on great walks. I even got
use to Saro when he wears an odd red suit (Santa suite) and there are lots of
other dogs & humans at a "party".
Jonah's Ark rates the top of my WOOFs.

George loves Jonah’s
Ark Doggie Playcare . She can’t wait for Monday morning so she can go back to
see all her friends. Saro and Yoko are amazing with the dogs. It’s a great
feeling for us to leave George in such good hands while we are at work. Thanks
also to Saro for training George to walk on leash. You guys are the Best!

Charlie
I’ve been bringing my dog Charlie, to Jonah’s Ark Doggie
Playcare for the past 6 to 8 months, five days a week. What I really like about
this daycare is that they really care about my dog like he is their own dog,
which is a quality hard to find in other places.
Name: Mary Brown -
Emma
I will not mince
words. My dog Emma was a wild puppy, willful and unfitted. She needed to be
socialized and to learn some manners. Emma defiantly got by on being cute.
Enter Saro and Jonah’s Ark Doggie Playcare !
With consistent and persistent and lessons, from both the
staff and me at the daycare, Emma has matured into a nice dog.
She has achieved a place on the Superfly agility demo team
and she and I are a registered therapy dog team with St. John Ambulance.
If it were not for the patience and positive experience that
staff at Jonah’s Ark Doggie Playcare gave Emma in the past 3 years, I think
that Emma would be slippers by now!

Saro's love of dogs is obvious, and he has taken extra time
to help Casey overcome some of his fears and to help me become a good alpha
dog. I have always loved my dogs so much and treated them like my babies,
unaware of how unhealthy that attitude could be. Saro has taught me that I can
still love Casey but in a healthy way that will ensure he grows to be a happy,
well-adjusted dog. I am very grateful to you Saro, for the extra time and
effort you give to Casey and to all of the dogs in your care. Thank you!

McGuinness -Chica
Chica is a small black lab cross rescued from a Mexican
beach last winter. We brought her back to Vancouver where we restored her to
good health. She greatefully settled herself into our hearts and into the lives
of our other three pets – a small couch dog called Daisy, and 2 cats - Hank and
Jack. During the first several months Chica was glued to my hip. As her rescuer
and primary ‘food source’, I quickly became her much adored Alpha. Her eyes
followed me everywhere and I was rarely out of her sight. After several months
I felt it was time to step up her socialization skills with other dogs. She was
fine with them but indifferent and unfamiliar with ‘playing’. I also wanted to
disengage her from separation anxiety. I met with Saro and Yoko at the Jonah's
Ark Doggie Playcare . They agreed to take her in to assess her activity needs
and socialization skills. After a few visits it became clear that Saro was able
to tune into Chica. I have since called him a ‘dog whisperer’. He really has
developed a 6th sense with her. Chica has learned to play and engage with all
ages of dogs at Jonah's Ark. The hikes and daily play all add up to an
amazingly happy and fulfilled dog. We’re so thrilled with the work that Saro
and Yoko do at the daycare. We’re now gearing up to enroll Chica in the agility
class. Can’t wait to see how far we can take Chica’s enthusiasm for the sport.
Thanks Jonah's Ark!
Name: Dorothy -Danny
Danny has been going to the Jonah's Ark Doggie Playcare for almost two years. Originally I had been taking Danny to the office a couple of days a week but the new office space we moved into said I could not bring him. Danny is a border collie cross who is busy, is very social and needs exercise. I visited a number of the doggy daycares to see which one fit for my dog. I wanted a doggie daycare that did not take a huge number of dogs and one that took them on off leash hikes every day. I also looked at one where the dogs looked happy and were not on cement floors all day. Jonah's Ark Doggie Playcare has rubberized mats, toys and staff that really care about the dogs. All the staff who work there are all skilled at dealing with the group of dogs in a positive manner. Danny was a rescue dog and was very insecure, when I first took him to daycare he was very nervous and did not want to stay, he was afraid he was being deserted again. However now- Danny leaps out of the car at the Jonah's Ark Doggie Playcare and barks in excitement to get in. Danny has become much more secure and confident dog. I have no hesitations in recommending this Doggie Playcare to anyone who wants a safe, fun, secure and welcoming place for their dog to go.
On the days Danny goes to daycare he comes home relaxed and
most importantly tired! Dorothy
