Bring
your dog and join the pack for some exercise and dog training
education. Expect to have some serious, but not too serious fun!
All students who have taken Jonah's Ark's basic obedience course are welcome to join.
This one-day course, held on Saturdays, will cover three major topics: exercise, socialization and training.
Each
day begins at 8:30 am and will be about three hours long. We’ll head
out for a hike in a different North shore park (you’ll be notified of
the exact location ahead of time). Along the way Saro will address
behavioural issues as situations naturally arise, as well as lead
focused training sessions.
Worth getting up early for a Saturday morning. Lots of fun,
useful information and “real world” training situations.

A good resource for the high energy working dog! Lots of
ideas and solutions plus canine knowledge for care givers and trainers.

This hike is a must if you want to improve on the lessons
learned at Saro’s basic obedience training course. The improvement to our
techniques and Gunners responses to instructions were remarkably noticeable.
The hiking trails venues provided a variety of opportunities for real life scenarios
that just don’t happen in a classroom. We highly recommend these hikes.

I just completed the most beneficial and fun training course that I have ever taken with my dog(s)!
I found myself looking forward to 8:30 am every Saturday morning and wondering what kind of adventure each session would bring.
I
am so grateful to Saro for the time and effort he put into this course,
as I feel much more confident with Casey now when I take him out, and I
know what to do to stay in control if a situation comes up. The group
was fun to learn with and I made new friends with whom I hope to
continue hiking. The course was also great because my husband and I now
take our dogs out and get exercise as a family. I was sad when the
course ended and I plan to be the first one to sign up when Saro has
his next course!

Taking
this course was one of the best times I have had with my dog. Yes it
was a learning course, of which there was plenty of work but, it was
also alot of fun. Saro mixed the fun with struggle and in the end you
feel such a bond with your dog especially when you both finally get it
and there is just a bond that you can actually see. I recommend that
anyone who has issues with themselves or their dogs take this course
because you get to be in the wilds with your dog where he is
comfortable yet, you get learn to always be in control. It is a win win
situation and adding to the beauty of it is that you are outside
enjoying the beautiful place we are lucky enough to live in. Saro
teaches us that taking control of our dogs doesn't mean that you can't
have fun and it certainly doesn't mean your dog doesn't love you - just
the opposite! A calm dog is a happy dog and being on thiese hikes,
learning and playing together is the best!!

This
course taught me how important it is to interact with Gus confidently
and how a training walk can be more relaxing and fun .

I
never thought I could walk winston, my 90lb, extremely strong
(physically and mentally) adopted weimaraner on a leash but saro proved
it can be done with practice, time, and the right approach and energy.
Saro helped me realizethat if you assert yourself as a calm and
confident leader at all times with your dog, he will follow.

I
really enjoyed getting out in some of the beautiful parks that we have
here on the north shore and working with my dog along with other dog
owners who were also striving for a better relationship with their
dog(s). After the course, I feel more confident in controlling my dog
in a variety of situations. I can already sense that both my dog and I
are more relaxed with each other and with our new roles as #1 (that's
me) and #4 (that's my dog)!
