Dogs are highly social animals and require good company to have a healthy social behaviour. You all want to have dogs in your lives but your lifestyles are not always what is best for the dog.
In our modern times dogs are placed in very un-natural situations. Isolation while owners are at work, lack of socialization and exercise, and lack of stimulation or good leadership. So the doggie playcare can fill the gap in a lot of those areas and make a huge difference.
Playcare does not replace dog owners. You still need to interact with your dog and provide training, affection and stimulation as much as possible.
The most important reason I started” Jonah’s Ark” many years ago was to provide a safe place that dogs could come to play with other healthy, balanced dogs.
Play is one of the most important parts of a dog’s life. A play session for a dog provides all the necessities that a dog should get on a daily basis.
All dogs have five common needs that should be provided on daily basis. They are; exercise, training, socialization, care and affection.
When your dog is playing with other dog(s) it is obviously getting exercise but it is also being trained by the dog(s) that it is playing with (i.e. how much pressure to use when biting, etc.).
Group play also gives your dog a chance to socialize with a pack, learn how to communicate with other dogs and improve his/her canine social skills.
Most dogs do care for each other and share affection while or after they play.
Next time, watch your dog while it plays with other dogs and see if you can spot how they get those needs fulfilled.
At Jonah’s Ark we provide this opportunity for you to share with your dog. Your dog will thank you for it.
Is my dog fit for Jonah's Ark Doggie Playcare?
When it comes to care for your dog(s) during the day, there are many options available and one of them is the playcare.
There are many things that you should consider when looking into a daycare, from the playcare’s quality of care to the location and all the aspects in between.
One other thing that you should also consider is your dog’s mental state. You need to find out if your dog is really suitable for the playcare environment and is the playcare going to be beneficial or be a negative experience for your dog.
There are 3 types of dogs in general when it comes to dogs and playcare. Understanding them may help you to find out if your dog is a type of dog that will benefit or be suitable for playcare.
