Jonahthe beagle, inspired Saro and Yoko, to start their business Jonah's Ark Products and to develop personalized Collar ID.
When they were taking Jonah for his walks as a puppy, people would ask his name, age, and his sex. They would meet many dogs on each walk. That's when they wished that dogs would wear collars with their names on, so they could see their names just by looking at the collar. They definitely wanted one alike for Jonah.
Since Jonah is a beagle, they knew that he might follow his noise and maybe lost for hours. This is normal with this type of bread. Jonah also had a medical condition that was a bit complicated so they didn’t want him to be lost for a long time.
They wanted him to have an ID that could be easily read and found on him so anybody could see and could contact them as soon as they find Jonah.
However, when they looked for such a product in the market, they could not find anywhere in Canada, at least, so they decided to make this product on their own. That's how they started their business in April of 2003.
Ever since, they have sold thousands of their personalized products through out Canada, U.S., Europe, Asia including Japan. They have even added cat collars, leashes and harnesses to their line of products.
In 2006, Saro purchased Superfly Canine Daycare and changed it to Jonah's Ark Canine Daycare. Saro's great love for dogs all began with his beagle Jonah. Since bringing him home in 2001, Saro has known that his passion for working with dogs would lead to his ultimate career in the doggie world.
Saro began managing Jonah's Ark Canine Daycare in 2006 and ever since than has turned this small business into a tail wagging success. Through his patience and understanding of dog behaviour, Saro has made Jonah's Ark Canine Daycare into a fun and highly sought out environment for people to bring their beloved dogs to play, socialize or rehabilitate if needed.
The physical and mental health of all the dogs in Saro's care is of utmost importance to him. Daily hikes and constant personal interaction with the dogs makes the daycare a healthy choice for pet owners. In an effort to stay up to date on current training methods and behavioural modification techniques, Saro is always reading highly regarded training books and communicating with various certified trainers and Veterinarians in the lower mainland. He welcomes a challenge and has great results with canine behaviour issues.
To ensure the best possible on site care, Saro completed his Canine First Aid certification in February 2007. With his kindness and love of dogs, Saro makes Jonah's Ark Canine Daycare a place where both the owners and their fur-covered friends are truly happy.
Now, Saro and Yoko operate and run Jonah’s Ark at their North Vancouver location along with their beagle, Jonah.
